At Skellenger Bender, we recognize that families come in many forms – and so do the legal challenges they face and the potential paths to resolution. That’s why we’re proud to announce the launch of our new Collaborative Family Law Practice Group.
While several of our attorneys have practiced collaborative family law for years, we’ve now brought together a dedicated team focused on helping clients resolve issues through a structured, out-of-court process grounded in transparency, mutual respect, and creative problem-solving.
In this process, parties work with specially trained attorneys and coaches—and when needed, financial and/or child specialists—to create lasting, tailored agreements. Collaborative law best suits parties seeking to minimize conflict, communicate openly, share information voluntarily, foster healthy co-parenting relationships, and cooperate in good faith to resolve their disputes respectfully outside of court.
And collaborative law is more than just a divorce litigation alternative. It can also be used to reach agreements in many areas of family law, including prenuptial agreements, postnuptial agreements, and agreements that help protect diverse types of non-marital family relationships.
Our firm has long offered a broad range of family law services for clients, including litigation, negotiation, mediation, arbitration, and now, collaborative law. This group reflects our belief that every client deserves meaningful options and guidance to choose what’s right for them – especially when it matters most.
If you’re considering collaborative family law or want to explore whether it might be a good fit for your situation, we’d be happy to talk.
